Brass Nandi with Naga

A beautifully handcrafted brass statuette of Nandi with a five hooded Naga atop. The craftsmanship of the piece is stunning with the Nandi standing upright with his head turned to its left. The Nandi is ornamented around its neck and also on its back. A fantastic piece of Indian craftsmanship which can be used in your shrine for rituals or as a decor piece for that traditional vintique look.

Nandi is the name of the gate - guardian deity of Kailasa, the abode of Lord Shiva. He is usually depicted as a bull which also serves as the mount to Lord Shiva. Besides being Shiva’s vehicle, Nandi is also the chief of the god’s team of ganasor attendants, and consequently he often carries a golden staff of office. His other duties include being the guardian of all quadrupeds and the provider of music as Shiva dances the tandava, the cosmic dance of creation.
