Statuette of Lord Nataraja

This is an exquisitely crafted large sized statuette of Lord Nataraja in brass. The statuette portrays Shiva dancing in a ring of flames, with one foot raised and the other foot stepping on a dwarf, who represents ignorance.

The Lord has four arms, with one hand holding a drum (damaru) and the other hand holding a flame (agni). The other two arms are held in mudras (hand gestures) symbolizing creation and destruction. Shiva's hair is depicted in wild locks, and he adorns an elaborate head gear.

The statue has intricate detailing, with the flames and the dancing pose capturing the dynamic movement of Shiva's dance. The Nataraja statue is considered a powerful representation of Shiva's role in the cycle of creation and destruction and is a popular symbol of Indian art and culture.
